This is the tomb of the man who, in 1605, brought the sweet potato to Okinawa from China. The meat of this vegetable is purple.

@Japanalia: But Gabriela - wouldn't you like ube ice cream? That is made with the purple sweet potato! (I like the ice cream, but I've never even tried the veggie.)
Fantastic, I love sweet potato, the ones we eat have orange flesh. Its an interesting looking tomb too.

I love sweet potato. My mum loves to boil sweet potato soup. It tastes delicious roasted too. This is a wonderful image! :)
